On February 26, the State Department hosted the U.S.-Australia Critical Minerals Working Group meeting in Washington, D.C. The working group developed options for a joint action plan to improve critical mineral security and ensure future competitiveness of U.S. and Australian minerals industries, as agreed by President Trump and Prime Minister Morrison in Washington in September 2019. The working group agreed to reconvene in the coming months to advance specific steps to secure supplies of critical minerals.
